We see in Galatians 3:16, that Paul understood the
promise of a Seed was the focus of the Covenant. That singular seed, Paul said,
was Christ. But Paul's idea was not original with him. The Seed had been promised from the time of the Fall in the Garden.

SEED OF THE WOMAN (Genesis 3:15)

Messiah would be human/ Born of woman: Genesis 3:15:
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your Seed
and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

SEED OF SHEM (Genesis 9:26)

Messiah would be a Semite: Genesis 9:26

SEED OF ABRAHAM (Genesis 12:1-3)

Messiah would be a Hebrew: Genesis 12:2-3:
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make
your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless
you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be
blessed through you."

Messiah would be a son of Jacob. Numbers 24:17: 17 "I see him,
but not now; I behold him, but not near.
A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel.

Messiah would come from Tribe of Judah.

49:8 "Judah, [1] your brothers will praise
you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow
down to you. 9 You are a lion's cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son.
Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness‑who dares to rouse him?
10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between
his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs [2] and the obedience of the
nations is his.

Revelation
5:5 Then one of the elders said to me,
"Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has
triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
7. SEED OF JESSE (Isaiah 11:1, 10)
a.
Messiah would come from line of Jesse –
(Isaiah 11:1, 10): (cf. Psalm 110:1; Matthew 22:41-46; Acts
2:34-36; 13:22-23).

11:1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a
Branch will bear fruit. 10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner
for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be
glorious.

make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

Acts
13:22-23: 22After removing Saul, he made David
their king. He testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse a man

this man's descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he
promised.

SEED OF DAVID (2 Samuel 7:13)

Messiah would come from David 2 Samuel 7:13:13 He is the one who will build a
house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

God placed a curse on David’s descendant King Jehoiakin. This comes just after the curse on
Jehoiakin in Jeremiah 22:24-30.

But David would have someone always on the
throne – (Jeremiah 23:5; 33:15-22; 2
Samuel 7:13)
d.
But after this curse, there is the renewal
of the promise: Jeremiah 23:5 --
"The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up
to David [1] a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is
just and right in the land.

33:14 -- "'The days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will
fulfill the gracious promise I made to the house of Israel and to the house of
Judah. 15 " 'In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch
sprout from David's line; he will do what is just and right in the land. 16 In
those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the
name by which it [1] will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.' 17 For this
is what the LORD says: 'David will never fail to have a man to sit on the
throne of the house of Israel, "

Messiah would be a Priest of Levi – (1
Chronicles 3:5; 26:4-5; Luke 3:31-32: Jeremiah 33:18; Matthew 1:6-7):

33:18 nor will the priests, who are Levites, ever fail to have a man
to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain
offerings and to present sacrifices.' " But how?

Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel, son of
Obed-Edom (caretaker of Tabernacle in 1 Samuel) who was of Kohath, Moses’ first
cousin.

Matthew

Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah's wife,

SEED OF ZERUBBABEL (Haggai 2:22-23)

Messiah would be a descendant of Zerubbabel.
Haggai
2:22-23:22 I will overturn royal thrones and
shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their
drivers; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
23 " 'On that day,' declares the LORD Almighty, 'I will
take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,' declares the LORD, 'and I
will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,' declares the LORD
Almighty."

SEED OF A VIRGIN (Isaiah 7:14)
a.
Messiah would be the Son of a Virgin –
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22-23; Luke 1:32-33). Parthenos –
“virgin” used both Matthew and Luke
b.
Isaiah
7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you [1] a sign: The virgin
will be with child and will give birth to a son, and [2] will call him Immanuel.

Matthew
1:22-23: 22All
this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23"The
virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him
Immanuel"—which means, "God with us."
