Jeremiah's Baptism

On Sunday night, July 24, we went to Hopewell Baptist Church in Morganton, NC, to attend the dedication and baptism of Jeremiah John David Jackson Flomo Gupton, at least those are the names we know of him using at one time or another. He is a former orphan (great designation, huh) from Liberia, West Africa. I spoke and told of how we found him in Gbarnga with Mother Feeta Namien and took him back with us to her orphanage. In July 2004, Pastor Homer Murdock of Hopewell and Touch the World Ministries visited Liberia and Mother Feeta's orphanage. He took all the orphans' pictures, and when he reported in his church of his trip, this little boy's picture found a way into the hearts of the Gupton family. In March 2005, Jeremiah finally came home to his new American family, now an American citizen. He received the Lord Jesus a few months earlier and was dedicated and baptized on July 24, 2005. We are glad to have had a part in Jeremiah's life.
