We tried out Wakefield Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC, today. It is the nicest church we have attended since arriving in the Triangle Memorial Day weekend. Not one but three people spoke to us with smiles and outstretched hands! They almost had to pick me up.
"Are we still in Raleigh?" I asked my wife.
Worship was good as the leader did well at blending historic hymns with the latest worship music. First time I've ever sang "Brethren, We Have Met to Worship" and "And Can It Be" with keyboard accompaniment! It was great.
I heard the man behind us tell his wife that they had high attendance -- 237.
The sermon was well presented by William Franklin Graham IV.
That was a surprise. He's a good expositor.
We are going to attend a Crown Financial Ministries course there this autumn.
