It was great last night at Amis Chapel. Our Wednesday night service was a guided review of Nehemiah, and I gained a new teaching insight as I facilitated. In the past I've shied away from discussion in a teaching setting, but I found a good time for discussion is at the end when people have had time to digest information. We had great interaction about the book of Nehemiah, the structure and texture of the book, the leadership lessons of rebuilding the wall and infrastructure of Jerusalem, and about Nehemiah the man, the leader. Many people participated and offered great insights into the book and the man. It was a super night of Bible study and reflection.
Tomorrow night we begin our spring revival with Phil Thrailkill, pastor of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Georgetown, SC. He is bringing conference study packets with him, so it should be good.
