The following video is of something happening right now in AMERICA, the home of religious freedom. Rifqa Bary claims that because she decided to give up her family's religion of Islam and instead worship Jesus Christ, that her life is in danger. Bary is now begging the state of Florida to allow her to stay there and not be sent back to Ohio to her father. A judge will decide the fate of this honor student and cheerleader who fled her Muslim parents.
Write to Florida Governor Crist and beg for her to remain safe in Florida. The Governor's email address: charlie.crist@myFlorida.com. Don't know what to say to him? This is what I wrote:
The Honorable Charlie Crist
Governor of the State of Florida
Dear Governor,
Please use your executive authority to protect the young girl Rifqa Bary from joining the ranks of missing persons and being martyred for her faith. This is America where we are supposed to have freedom of religion. I urge you in the strongest terms to use every executive power at your disposal to protect this young woman who simply wants to practice her faith in Constitutional freedom without fear of reprisal.
UPDATE: This evening I received a response from Governor Crist's office. It is below:
Thank you for contacting Governor Charlie Crist. The Governor asked that I respond on his behalf.
Governor Crist today expressed his gratefulness to Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson for his decision to grant Fathima Rifqa Bary the right to remain in Florida. In this case, the first and only priority of Governor Crist's administration is the safety and wellbeing of this child. The Governor also expressed gratitude for the good work of Department of Children and Families Secretary George Sheldon and his General Counsel, Rob Wheeler, for personally advocating the administration's position by attending today's hearing.
Please be assured Governor Crist will continue to fight to protect Ms. Rifqa Bary's safety and well-being as this case moves forward.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact Governor Crist.
Sincerely,
Warren Davis
Office of Citizen Services
